You’ll deal with me from the first conversation through to getting things sorted. You don’t need to know the technical terms. Just tell me what you’re trying to do.
I've been teaching Computer Science for over 24 years, including more than 12 as Head of Department, and I hold a degree and postgraduate diploma in Computer Science. Alongside teaching, I’ve worked with pupils, parents and staff on online safety.
But honestly? My relationship with computers started long before any of that. I've been taking them apart, putting them back together, and figuring out how they work since I was six years old. That's 44 years of genuine curiosity, and it still hasn't worn off.
No jargon. No making you feel silly for asking. Just honest help from someone who genuinely enjoys this stuff, whether that's rescuing a slow laptop, building a small business a website, tutoring a teenager through their GCSE, or pulling decades-old memories off a dusty cassette.

Every job is a little different. Here are a few examples.
Choosing and setting up
I accompanied a customer to the Apple Store to help them choose the right phone. Afterwards, we took it home, transferred their data and got everything set up.
Help with the whole job, from deciding what to buy to feeling ready to use it.
Home-office setup
A customer had a computer, monitor, router and printer delivered in boxes. I spent the day unpacking everything, setting it up and getting it working together.
Sometimes you just want someone to take care of it properly and save you the time.
Bespoke spreadsheet · 2016
I built a spreadsheet using growth and maturation data to help estimate biological age. Bath Rugby used it to support work on bio-banding, grouping young players by physical maturity.
Around the same time, I demonstrated a related prototype to the LTA based on the same approach.
